TIMESTAR WINDOWS & VOID-OF-COURSE MOONS

by Matthew Kuester, TimeStar Astrologer

Astrology is a metaphysical reflection of the universe that humans can interact with at their normal level of consciousness. The stars and planets themselves do not directly affect humans. They reflect other patterns in the universe and how those energies interact with our solar system. These are physical reflections, or shadows, of univeral energy patterns.

The TimeStar windows open on what astrologers calls a Void of Course Moon (VOC). In Western astrology the planets will form geometric relationships to one another while moving in their orbits. The moon spends approximately 2.5 days in each sign of the zodiac. While in a sign the moon forms aspects to other planets and mathematical points that are of importance in astrology. Once the moon has ended it's last aspect to the rest of the solar system, it is said to be "in the void." Void-of-course moons occur about every two days. This period of time usually last a few minutes to a few hours, but can go as long as two or more days.

The effects of the moon in the void are varied. It is a "spacey" time, where concentration is difficult and motivation is low. It is an excellent time for spiritual pursuits, meditation, and contemplation. Projects begun during these times usually fail, fall apart, or dissolve themselves. These times are when the esoteric and the non-corporeal reign.

The fact that the TimeStar windows begin during these times show that the 13-month lunar calendar and 12-house astrological calendar are part and parcel of the same astronomical model. Although VOC moons are an ancient astrology, they have only recently been resurrected by modern astrologers.

Moreover, the consistent correlation of the TimeStar with VOC moons shows that the ancients had both a subjective and objective understanding of the universe. The subjective view of the universe says that the sun rises every day and circles the earth. The objective view says that the earth revolves and moves around the sun. The movements of the stars and planets, and their effects on each other are cyclical. The science of astrology looks at where the pieces of the mosaic lay and then extrapolates the picture that is created.

The void-of-course is the "window" that opens a TimeStar predictions. The phases of the moon are created by it's interaction with the sun. The moon's light is a reflection of the sun's. The moon is the sun's shadow metaphorically in astrology. The sun is the surface, the outer projection. The moon is the hidden half, the internal, the depths.

A lunar eclipse is when the moon is disconnected from the sun by the earth. It is a time that the "subconscious" of the sun is allowed full effect on the earth. A lunar eclipse allows the ultimate expression of the sun's subconscious to take place. A void of course could be seen as a mini-eclipse, allowing a small recreation of that effect on the earth. The removal of the sun's effect allows other energies to interact with the earth, in effect opening a doorway for non-solar energies to interact with the planet.
