The moderate (4.3 magnitude) earthquake near Seattle July 22, along with others in California and the Aleutians, were predicted for the window now opening July 23 - August 3. The 7/22/01 earthquake near Seattle is in the same area as the 6.8 earthquake on February 28, 2001, and is undoubtedly an aftershock. While moderate eartquakes are predicted on the U.S. West Coast in July and August, the next window for a larger earthquake on that coast is September - October.
